Day 1 - Arrive Llamac

21 Jun 2007

Today we travelled by minibus from Huaraz to the village of Llamac (3300m), the starting point of the trek. Llamac nestles deep in a steep sided valley. We arrived in early afternoon, which gave us time to take a walk up the side of the valley to stretch our legs after the 5 hour drive from Huaraz.

		In the afternoon, we went on an afternoon walk, climbing up the side of the valley to gain views up the valley in the direction we will be trekking tomorrow.
		A shadow passes over the village of Llamac as the late afternoon sun begins to go down.
