Day 15 - Return to Llamac and Huaraz via Macrash Punta

5 Jul 2007

Today we headed downvalley from Lake Jahuacocha, winding our way around the side of the valley until we reached Macrash Punta (4272m). The windy route took us through some forest of quenua trees which are beautiful delicate alpine trees with flaking rust coloured bark. We took some group photos on top of the Macrach Punta, before heading down the long dusty descent into Llamac for lunch.

After lunch in Llamac we were driven back to Huaraz, and later that evening we enjoyed a celebration dinner at a restaurant in Huaraz.

		The route wound its way around the valley passing through patches of quenua forest emerging from it occasinally amid dramatic scenery.
