Day 14 - Rest Day at Jahuacocha

4 Jul 2007

Lake Jahuacocha was a beautiful place to spend a rest day before ending the trek. The weather was beautiful and the lake held mirror like reflections of the peaks surrounding Jirishanca throughout much of the morning. We did a short walk up the valley to the turquoise Laguna Solteracocha (4120m). It was also very pleasant to walk around Jahuacocha itself.

		We did a short walk up to the turquoise Lake Solteracocha.
		Lake Solteracocha with Jahuacocha just visible beyond.
		The alluvial flats below these great peaks are home to local farming communities.
		It was very pleasant to walk around the shores of Lake Jahuacocha.
