Day 7 - Exploring the Tayapampa Valley

13 Jul 2007

Today had some bad weather, with cold winds and some sleet and rain around lunch time. We explored some tributaries of the upper Tayapampa valley, including climbing up to the tiny Lake Llullacocha (4750m). For a camp site we decided to explore the slopes above the main valley, and found a secluded and spectacular spot for our tent with the potential for great views if the weather would only be kind to us.

		At Lake Safuna Alta the clouds parted temporarily, revealing views of Pucajirca, reflected in the lake.
		For an excursion we climbed up to the tiny Lake Llullacocha (4750m).
		Later in the afternoon we explored up the side of the valley and found this small and secluded spot for the tent high up on the valley side with commanding views.
