Penjikent Market, Tajikistan

The markets in Tajikistan have a different feel to those in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
One thing not in short supply is watermelons.

Osh, Kyrgyzstan

All the bread in Central Asia is round.
This is what bread looks like in Central Asia. It's a shame to eat it!
We were about to head to 7000m so we considered buying an extra lung from this lung shop.
Peanuts!
An abundance of nuts and dried fruit.
The felt hat is standard attire for the Kyrgyz rural people, many of whom were wandering around this market. So why was I getting strange looks when I wore mine?
The towering statue of Lenin has was moved from the centre of Osh after the breakup of the Soviet Union. It now stands a few blocks away, outside a government building.
