On the weekend of 28-29 July 2018 I took a small group from SUBW to the Red Rocks near Newnes in the Wolgan Valley. The weekend coincided with a lunar eclipse, or "blood moon", so late on the Friday night we climbed Donkey Mountain to reach a vantage point for the eclipse. However in the hours before dawn clouds rolled in and the blood moon could not be seen. On Saturday we traversed the Red Rocks, enjoying a weekend of spectacular scenery.
