The special public holiday on 7 September for APEC provided the perfect opportunity for a 3 day cross country ski trip. The starting point of the trip was Guthega ski resort, and from there we skied up onto the main range and established a base camp for 2 nights near Mt Twynam. The ski trip took us to the top of Mt Twynam, and out to the spectacular Watsons Crags. On the middle day, Rob Hynes and I did an excellent ski tour out to Caruthers Peak, Mt Kosciuszko, Mt Townsend, Lake Albina and Blue Lake. On the final day we returned to Guthega - slowly - because of an injured knee by one of the members of the group.

On the trip were Nazih Chammas, Albert Chetcuti, Rob Hynes, Kate Lord, Jeremy Platt, and myself, Ashley Burke.
