How Do I Register My Interest In a Trip?

If you are interested in coming along on one of my bushwalking trips that you have seen advertised on this web site or on the SUBW email list, walks programme or elsewhere, then please complete a Trip Application Form. The idea of this form is to help you provide me the information that I need to organise the trip and to ensure that it's the right trip for you. When you submit the form I will receive an email containing the supplied information.

If you have trouble with the form, don't worry, just email me instead - I know how frustrating computers and forms can be and the last thing you want is a computer and a form getting in between you and the bush!

How Much Will it Cost?

The main costs, apart from your own equipment and food, is transportation. The cost of petrol, motorway tolls, park entrance fees and some vehicle running costs are normally shared among the passengers of each car. Costs are normally worked out on a car by car basis rather than for the group as a whole. The amount is normally determined by the driver, and you should reimburse your driver that amount before parting ways at the end of the trip.

The actual amount charged for each trip is up to the driver, and may vary for each trip depending on the model of car, number of passengers etc. The below table provides a rough guideline to charges for a range of common destinations. These prices assume the point of departure and return is somewhere in the Sydney metropolitan area. The prices below are valid for 2015. The prices below should be taken as a guideline only, the actual amount charged may vary, for the reasons just given.

The table also shows approximate vehicle mileages for the return trip, and the travel time (one way)

Destination Approximate Transport Cost from Sydney per Passenger ($AUD) Approximate total vehicle mileage for return trip Approximate travel time (one way)
Grose rim (Katoomba, Blackheath, Mount Victoria, Bell, Mount Wilson, Mount Tomah) $20 200km 1 hr 30 mins
